For those who wish to do some recreational watersport there’s no problem as we navigate very close to the shore whilst going from Breskens to Terneuzen. For the thirsty amongst us, we can also insert a break in Terneuzen before continuing our journey between the sandbanks to the Canal of Walcheren. The first lock we in counter is in Hansweert. She’s the link between the Schelde and the Oosterschelde. First little harbour on the Oosterschelde is Wemeldinge. This little harbour town is very well known by divers. of the Schelde. Mind you even on this side of the water we still have to navigate in a labyrinth of sandbanks which makes our trip even more exiting. You’ll also have the opportunity to see one of Europe’s longest bridges : the Zeelandbrug.
Again we in counter sandbanks. But if we can continue our trip at a distance from approx. 100 m from the coast, you’ll even a glance to see de beautiful sandy beaches and many nudist beaches which are typical for Walcheren. Once we reached Flushing (with its small harbour in the city centre); we begin the crossing to the Zeebruges. And there’s no doubt that having had an enjoyable day, everyone will be very glad to take a nice shower and quick meal before relaxing in their beds!
Restaurants in Zierikzee : Voerman or Auberge Maritieme.
You can also take a meal either in Flushing or Terneuzen.

Before navigating through the nearby sandbanks we generally make a pit stop (read : drink a cup of coffee or have a nice bowl of soup or larger) in the small harbour of Breskens.
Once we past this bridge we reach the fairway (laying starboard) to Zierikzee.
This is one off Holland’s most beautiful enchanting fishing village offering nice pubs and restaurants. Have a look to their
